Occupational Therapists support residents in regaining daily skills and routines that promote independence, confidence, and quality of life. Working closely with physical and speech therapy teams, nursing staff, and families, they create personalized care plans that address both medical goals and the individual’s overall well-being.
*Occupational Therapist Requirements and Responsibilities*
* Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
* Current state license and NBCOT certification (as applicable)
* Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care is preferred
* Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
* Adjust treatments based on resident progress and safety precautions
* Document care thoroughly and ensure compliance with physician orders
