The Staff Occupational Therapist is involved in the direct patient care for acute, swing bed, outpatient, pediatrics, and traditional outpatient clients. The staff Occupational Therapist (OT) is a licensed professional who works with SMMC patients to facilitate health and well-being through engagement in occupation. The OT examines each individual, develops a Plan of Care (POC), and uses treatment techniques to help their clients work towards a more independent life with the feeling of accomplishment. The OT continually reassesses the patient’s status and adjusts the therapy techniques as needed. The OT is also responsible for consulting with the patient or responsible person, the patient’s medical provider, and other agency personnel regarding the POC.
Education/Experience:
Must be a graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience is preferred in the areas of outpatient pediatrics, outpatient general population, and acute/inpatient services.
Current Idaho Occupational Therapy license
Basic Life Support required upon hire (AHA BLS or CPR)
