Occupational Therapist (Independent Contractor)

*Location: *Outside Halifax Regional Municipality

This opportunity is ideal for an independent clinician who values control over their schedule and caseload while working alongside a collaborative team. The role includes working clients with diverse MSK barriers to occupations and as well, first responders experiencing psychological injuries, within a supportive and coordinated treatment environment.

*What You’ll Do*

* Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments in a variety of settings, including home, community, facility-based, and virtual environments
* Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans aligned with client goals within the context of the treatment team
* Evaluate and report on client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes
* Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with all regulatory and company standards
* Collaborate and communicate effectively with all treatment team members to enable significant gains with clients
* Travel within the community as required (use of a personal vehicle is necessary)

*What We’re Looking For*

* Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
* Valid and current license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the Province of Nova Scotia
* Experience level is flexible; 2+ years preferred, with consideration given to new graduates who have relevant fieldwork experience
* Strong clinical documentation and assessment skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and the capacity to work independently are essential
* Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for community visits
* Professional liability insurance- at least 2 million coverage
* Registered with NSOTR
