We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care and possess expertise in areas such as Geriatrics in LTC, hospital, and acute care.
\*\*Duties:\*\*
- Conduct assessments to determine patients' physical condition and needs; ADL assessments, seating and mobility, fall prevention, plinting, skin integrity and sysphagia
- collaborate with interdisciplinary team
- will participate in admission / discharge process by completing assessments of residents and developing care and treatment plans
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings
- Implement therapeutic exercises and modalities to improve patients' mobility and function
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and self-care techniques
- other duties may include: supervision of therapeutic support staff, participate in quality improvement, participation in policy revision and development
\*\*Experience:\*\*
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Valid province licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience working with geriatric patients is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and acute care practices
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues
