Care Resources is growing and expanding their team!! The team is seeking to add a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our fabulous health care professionals at Care Resources! This position is responsible for providing rehab services to assigned participants of Care Resources. The job requires certification as a COTA.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides occupational therapy treatment and reassessments with assigned participants in accordance with the care plan.
Prepares clinical documentation, progress notes, and other required documentation per policy.
Performs occupational therapy screenings to determine need for treatment and to assess participant progress; recommends changes to the care plan as appropriate.
Maintains communication with Occupational Therapists and other disciplines, as appropriate, to facilitate quality participant care.
Instructs families and staff on various restorative and therapy procedures.
Addresses and handles resident and family concerns related to therapy.
Orders approved adaptive equipment for assigned residents.
Assists in coordinating restorative exercise programs.
Attends care conferences, staff meetings and in-service programs as required.
Provides guidance to assigned staff. Duties include assigning and reviewing work, training and assisting with job tasks when necessary.
Qualifications:
The job requires knowledge normally acquired through completion of a state-approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
One to two years of rehabilitation experience is preferred.
Must maintain current valid professional license/certification.
A minimum of one-year experience working with a frail or elderly population, preferred.
Must be able to multi-task, work independently and in a team setting.
Must have current valid Michigan driver’s license and insurance.
Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to required regulatory compliance by governing entities, HIPAA and PACE specific regulations.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, auto insurance and a good driving record
Ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language
Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 60 pounds
Pass a basic physical
Pass a background check
This position is primarily based out of the Grand Rapids location but there may be occasional travel for home visits and/or coverage at the Lowell location.
