*Join Our Team as a Specialist Occupational Therapist *

*Full and part time opportunities available (22 – 42 hours)*

*Term time only *

*Salary dependent on experience *

Treloar’s is a charity which runs one of the UK’s largest specialist education centres for young disabled people to live and learn. Through our school and college, we offer students the opportunity to fully take part in life and achieve their aspirations.

We are looking to recruit an Occupational Therapist to join our large enthusiastic, supportive and skilled team. Together, we work to deliver assessment and interventions across campus from our youngest at 3 years to our college students in their early 20’s.

*What We Are Looking For:*

The role will include working within an experienced MDT comprising of health, residential and education staff to manage a small defined caseload of students with complex physical, sensory and learning disabilities.

You will provide interventions and advice to maximize students’ abilities to engage with and perform functional tasks in the areas of play, mobility, education, self-care, community access, leisure and independent living skills and work.

Treloar’s has excellent and innovative therapeutic resources and facilities and there are many opportunities for training and professional development. As a team we are committed to CPD and everyone is encouraged to develop their individual areas of interest and explore new approaches to treatment within a flexible timetable.

The successful candidate should have a flexible approach; hold a Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council. You must be able to demonstrate relevant post-registration experience. Experience of working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities within an educational setting is desirable, however we would also welcome applicants without direct paediatric experience but strongly transferrable skills into this setting. Experience in neurodisability treatments would be an advantage but is not essential. Training and support would be given to the right candidate.

Informal visits and discussions are encouraged and can be booked by contacting Victoria Pitt, Head of Occupational Therapy. Contact details can be found on our website.

*Salary information:*

Specialist Occupational Therapist: £36,639 - £43,630 per annum (dependent on experience) pro rata for part time.
