Occupational Therapist

Job Overview:
A healthcare organization is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join a multidisciplinary team. This role focuses on the daily coordination and delivery of occupational therapy services, implementing specific treatment programs for patients of all ages, from infants through geriatrics, in accordance with established departmental objectives and the principles of occupational therapy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific factors relevant to patients from infant through geriatric stages.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment programs for patients requiring services.
* Evaluate assigned patients by gathering data from various sources including patient records, interviews, observations, and team input.
* Utilize selected activities and/or tasks to promote and maintain health and achieve treatment goals.
* Establish and modify intervention goals and strategies for patients/treatment programs based on ongoing evaluations.
* Provide direct therapy services to patients using various functional settings and strategies.
* Plan therapy considering the patient’s individual physical, emotional, and intellectual capabilities, coordinating with rehabilitation, medical, and nursing care plans.
* Prepare all required documentation for the profession and department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress notes, and other reports.
* Communicate effectively with patients, their families, physicians, and other disciplinary team members regarding patient status, progress, and needs.
* Establish rapport and work cooperatively with interdisciplinary team members, including family and physicians, throughout the patient’s intervention program.
* Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
* Share new knowledge with colleagues and evaluate and monitor clinical internships for students from various universities/colleges.
* Participate in department program development.
Requirements:
* An active Occupational Therapist license in the state of practice upon hire.
* Ability to work the specified hours.
* Possession of visual acuity adequate to perform position duties.
* Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
* Knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
* 1-3 years of clinical patient experience.
