A community services organization in New York City is looking to add a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their growing team at one of their group homes in the Bronx.
About the Opportunity:
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours: Flexible
Setting: Article 16 Clinic
Patient Population: Adults (Ages 18+)
EMR: PrecisionCare
Responsibilities:
The Occupational Therapist (OT) will be responsible for:
Assess patients and create and OT treatment plan
Review medical records and verify MD's orders
Implementing OT treatment
Communicate with supervisor regarding persons receiving services in the areas of cognitive/perceptual skills, sensor-motor, musculoskeletal status, CNS status, the use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment needs (e.g., ADL devices)
Confer with Physician and other Healthcare Practitioners to obtain additional information on persons receiving services
Integrate input from persons receiving services, family, and direct care staff in treatment
Write specific, objective, and measurable documentation
Participates and attends care plan/team meetings as needed for persons receiving OT services.
Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
NYS Occupational Therapist (OT) license
Knowledge in the use of adaptive equipment, therapeutic activities
Computer savvy
Solid assessment skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized
