Scope
Responsible for organizing, developing, and directing occupational therapist services in accordance with the standards and practice of occupational rehabilitation, state and federal regulations, and Knute Nelson’s policies and procedures.
Ensure time management that best utilizes Knute Nelson’s resources while meeting client needs.
Assure that the highest degree of quality care, customer service, fiscal responsibility, and regulatory compliance is maintained at all times.

Education and Experience Required
Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Minnesota.
Must obtain CPR certification within 6 months from date of hire.
Must have a valid driver’s license and use of an insured personal vehicle.
Must complete and pass a state required background study.
Able to communicate verbally and in writing to the extent required by the position.
Able to physically perform the duties required by the position.
Required to have the ability to read, write and speak English well enough to communicate with staff, clients and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Client Care - Evaluate clients; obtain and interpret subjective and objective data. Develop treatment plans and programs including short-term and long-term goals in accordance with physician orders. Provide quality care that assists clients to meet goals; complete re-evaluations per requirements.
Client Records and Billing - Provide accurate and timely documentation of services rendered utilizing agency EMR. Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of all payer sources and authorization required. Document collaboration with COTAs per regulations. Perform supervisory visits for the HHA per regulations.
Communication - Communicate effectively with clients, families, referral sources, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team. Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Follow-Up Programs - Recommend and assure continuation of appropriate therapeutic follow-up programs and activities. Develop programs to optimize successful discharge with highest function possible. Make referrals to continuation programs as necessary.
