Occupational Therapist

*The Occupational Therapist is accountable for the developing, implementing, and maintaining a program to facilitate rehabilitation of mentally, physically, or emotionally handicapped individuals.*

*Plans rehabilitation programs which involved manual arts, practice in prevocation, vocation, homemaking skills, daily living, sensorimotor, educational and recreational activities to assist patients in functioning or adjusting to handicaps.*



*Selects activity program consistent with needs and capabilities of each patient and coordinates program with other therapeutic activities.*



*Selects constructive activities for patients to upgrade patient to maximum independence, prepare patient for return to work, to assist in restoration of functions and aid in adjustment to disability.*



*Teaches patients skills and techniques required for participation in activities and evaluates patient's progress.*



*Suggests special equipment for patient to use in adaption to work-living environment.*



*Lays out materials for patients use and cleans and repairs tools at end of session.*



*Conducts and participates in training programs.*



*May make and fit adoptive devices such as splints, braces, etc.*



*Performs other related duties as assigned.*

*Graduate of an accredited college and licensed as an Occupational Therapist.*



*OR*



*Certified as Occupational Therapist as state required.*
