Summary

While upholding the Star Valley Health mission, vision and values this key position is responsible for the evaluation, planning, directing and administering of physical therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. SV Health provides services onsite in the medical center, long term care center, through satellite clinics, home health and in conjunction with the local school system. This is an “at will” position.

Job Duties

Administers treatments and physical agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability
Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities
Completes patient evaluation and plan of program care tracking progression through patient electronic record
Demonstrates competency in the performance of patient evaluations cognitive, perceptual, sensory motor coordination and strength/range of motion
Interviews patient/family for program planning
Selects, analysis and formulates long term goals for patient progress
Responsible for assisting in the ordering of supplies
Assists in Supervision of Occupational Therapy Assistants, Aides and clerical staff
Insure accurate computerized patient records are kept
Willing to travel through services area to treat patients
Directs the activities program for swing bed
Attend meetings and education training as scheduled and needed
Perform other duties as needs arise or delegated

*Majority of work will be in-patient

Abilities & Skills:

Professional oral and written communication
Proficient with Microsoft Office products and Internet
Multi-tasking skills with the ease of changing directions upon request and need
Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, communicate effectively, and demonstrate sensitivity to clients, visitors and staff
Strong organizational and prioritization aptitude
Comply with HIPAA and other federal, state and local regulations, as well, as maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in client and staff matters
Physical demands require therapists to continually walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift and stand for long periods of time. In addition, Occupational therapists move heavy equipment and lift patients or help them turn, stand or walk.

Experience & Education:

Masters of Occupational Therapy required, doctorial preferred
Active Wyoming licensure
Maintain current driver’s license
Capability to care and treat patients with needs from pediatric to geriatrics

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $39.80 - $59.73 per hour
