Exploring the Use and Perceptions of Gait Analysis Tools in Prosthetic Rehabilitation: A Global Survey of Rehabilitation Professionals

Purpose of the Study

The aim of this study is to investigate the global use, perceptions, and clinical integration of gait analysis tools in prosthetic rehabilitation. The findings will help identify current practices, barriers to adoption, and opportunities for improving gait assessment in clinical settings.

Methodology

Participants will complete an anonymous online survey, taking less than 7 minutes to complete. The survey includes questions on professional background, current use of gait analysis tools, perceived benefits, barriers, and potential improvements.

Inclusion Criteria

Rehabilitation professionals and trainees involved in prosthetic rehabilitation (e.g., prosthetists, orthotists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists).

Anonymity and Ethics

No identifiable personal information will be collected. Participation is voluntary, and data will be stored securely and reported in aggregated form only. This study has been reviewed and approved by the University of Strathclyde Departmental Ethics Committee (Reference: DEC.BioMed.2025.389).
