*Job Summary*
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) plays a vital role in assisting occupational therapists in the implementation of treatment plans designed to help patients achieve independence in daily living and working activities. *Duties*
* Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
* Conduct therapy sessions that focus on enhancing patients' ability to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
* Monitor patient progress and provide feedback to the occupational therapist regarding treatment effectiveness.
* Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and strategies for continued improvement outside of therapy sessions.
* Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, progress notes, and treatment interventions.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Stay updated on best practices and advancements in occupational therapy.

* Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to occupational therapy practices.
* Familiarity with medical terminology to effectively communicate with healthcare teams.
* Experience or knowledge in various settings such as home health, pediatrics, acute care, geriatrics, and occupational health.
* Ability to assess patient needs and adapt treatment plans accordingly.
* Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and team members.
* Proficient in documenting patient progress and maintaining organized records.
* Compassionate approach towards patient care with a focus on rehabilitation and independence.
