About this role: The network occupational therapist, as a member of the educational team, supports the education of students suspected of and/or diagnosed with a disability in their least restrictive environment. The network occupational therapist develops, implements and coordinates an occupational therapy program within the Collegiate Academies Network, providing screening, evaluation, and intervention services. Collegiate Academies is looking for an individual who can provide the highest level of occupational therapy to all scholars who qualify for these services. This teammate will create a rigorous and supportive environment as these scholars progress to their ultimate goal: their most rigorous post-secondary outcome. This is a full-time role, with compensation dependent on experience.

Role and Responsibilities
Provide occupational therapy services, including evaluation
Provide group and individual sessions as indicated by the Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Provide status of scholar’s progress to families, as well as, family education on how they can support the progress of their child.
Write progress reports toward achieving goals and objectives on IEPs to be sent home with report cards every 9 weeks in a timely manner.
Write annual occupational therapy IEP goals to ensure students are on track to reaching their most rigorous post-secondary outcome.
Attend IEP meetings and complete all compliance paperwork in a timely manner as specified by Directors of Student/Scholar Support Services, Intervention Compliance Coordinators and Case Managers.
Administer formal assessments to determine whether or not a scholar qualifies for occupational therapy based on Louisiana Bulletin 1508 requirements.
Maintain compliance
Keep certifications and licensure current.
Willingness to be trained on and to use Accelify, our online software program that tracks scholars minutes and progress in therapy services.
Write daily progress notes as required by Medicaid regulations in Accelify.
Ensure treatment ties directly to IEP goals/objectives.
Remain knowledgeable of current trends, including federal and state regulations in the field of occupational therapy and special education to ensure compliance.
Build capacity and support staff collaboration
Consult with classroom teachers, job coaches, teaching aides and Directors of Student/Scholar Support Services regarding opportunities to incorporate occupational therapy goals into activities within the classroom settings.
Provide professional development to teachers across scholar support teams to incorporate occupational therapy strategies into their classes.
Meet monthly with Directors of Student/Scholar Support Services at the school where services are provided to discuss scholars’ progress and any barriers that have prevented expected progress or service provision.
Participate in meetings with classroom staff and other related service providers to ensure each party is supporting the scholar in achieving his/her most rigorous post-secondary outcome.
Qualifications
Must hold a license to practice occupational therapy in the State of Louisiana, as well as, the ability to obtain a valid LA ancillary teaching certification.
Desire to work at a college-prep high school rebuilding urban education in the city of New Orleans.
Desire to grow as a professional and person.
