Free Webinars Address Long COVID and the Value of Occupational Therapy

As part of CAOT’s efforts to support its members and their clients who are living with long COVID, two free webinars have been created that focus on episodic disability and the role of rehabilitation in both English and French.

The English-language webinar, called “Long COVID and Episodic Disability: Considerations for Rehabilitation,” is evidence informed with the presenters, Helen Skiffington and Kelly O’Brien, exchanging knowledge on episodic disability experienced among adults living with long COVID and the role and considerations for occupational therapy. The webinar draws from an international study exploring experiences of episodic disability among 40 adults living with long COVID in Canada, the United Kingdom, United States, and Ireland. The presenters describe the considerations for safe rehabilitation assessment and intervention approaches when working with adults living with long COVID. This interactive webinar also includes practical resources and guidelines for clinicians working in the field.

The French-language webinar is entitled “Seizing the Opportunity to Help Clients Living with Post-COVID Syndrome." The presenter, Jacinthe Beauregard Millaire, discusses how there is an increasing role for rehabilitation for people living with long COVID who are experiencing episodic fluctuations in symptoms to help prevent disability and enhance their health outcomes.
