“Taiwan can help, and Taiwan is helping!”- Sharing Pandemic Prevention Experiences with Association of Caribbean Occupational Therapy

Throughout the pandemic, Taiwan has been fighting against COVID-19 with advanced preparation and actions. Currently, out of the 481 confirmed cases in Taiwan, there were 389 imported cases, 55 locally acquired, 36 Navy crew members aboard, and 1 has yet to be clarified (data from MOHW of Taiwan, 2020.08.12).

On June 5th, 2020, Association of Caribbean Occupational Therapy (ACOT) invited Taiwan Occupational Therapy Association (TOTA) for an online joint meeting for COVID-19 prevention. TOTA has set up a COVID-19 guidance for therapists, which was highly recognized by the members of the Caribbean countries. The guidance is now available on the official website of TOTA (http://www.ot.org.tw/covid19). Contents about COVID-19 prevention at workplace, continuing education courses, and notifications when arranging internship, were all listed in details within the online guidance. Through this online joint meeting, ACOT and TOTA exchanged information and shared experiences with each other. To fight against COVID-19, TOTA is looking forward to more cooperation with ACOT and the world.
