COTA and OTR PRN

Job Description:

The COTA delivers quality resident care under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist. OT services/procedures are provided per the state practice act, and are consistent with education and training.

Areas of Responsibility:

· Effectively delivers appropriate treatment procedures to a variety of diagnoses in accordance with established treatment programs. Treatment procedures will be appropriate to the disability treated and goals established.

· Progresses and modifies resident’s therapy programs as appropriate, in collaboration with the Occupational Therapist.

· Accurately documents objective medical findings, goals and plan of care according to established department policy. Completes required documentation for all insurance carriers in a timely manner. Takes responsibility that all documentation is properly co-signed by an Occupational Therapist.

· Submits all billing information in a timely manner.

· Assists in annual screenings of residents in the facility, providing recommendations, and assessing for necessity of therapeutic intervention.

· Works closely with other therapists, assistants, technicians and restorative aides in the department.

· Serves as an interdisciplinary team member, consulting with other disciplines to insure optimal resident care.

· Provides an open and communicative working rapport with all residents. Consults with families as appropriate.

· Participates in resident care conferences and in-services as necessary.

· Plans for discharge of residents in a timely manner. Participates in home assessment prior to resident discharge to determine accessibility and safety of living situation.

· Performs related non-professional service necessary to maintain the efficient operation of the department and facility.

· Knows and upholds facility objectives, policies, procedures, and work performance reflects these standards.

· Attends all mandatory facility in-services.

· Precise knowledge of resident safety, fire, and disaster evacuation of the facility.

· Orders equipment with approval from Rehab Director.

· Performs other duties as assigned by the Rehab Director.

Education:

· Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.

· Currently licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Wisconsin.

Physical Demands:

· Position includes lifting, moving, and assisting in the lifting and moving of weights exceeding 50 lbs.

· Position includes walking, bending, reaching, trunk movement, lifting, pushing, and pulling over 75% of the time.

· Position requires vision, hearing, oral and written communication within normal limits.

Environment:

This work is performed indoors, in the rehabilitation department and throughout the facility, but occasionally outdoors or in the community.

Pay: $55,120.00 - $70,304.00 per year
