The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is a licensed professional who is responsible and accountable for performing occupational therapy services for inpatients and outpatients under the overall supervision of an Occupational Therapist. These services include planning, implementing, delivering and assessing the effectiveness of the treatment rendered. Regular direct/ongoing communication with the assigned or Supervisor OTR regarding patients on caseload is expected. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant must be able to provide services across the lifespan and work in both outpatient and inpatient settings as appropriate to the employee’s skill set and department requirements.
