Our Facility is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive rehabilitative care to our residents. *Responsibilities:*
* Collaborate with licensed Occupational Therapists to evaluate residents' occupational abilities, strengths, and limitations to develop individualized treatment plans.
* Assist in implementing therapeutic interventions, exercises, and modalities to improve residents' mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional independence.
* Guide and instruct residents in performing prescribed therapeutic exercises and activities to ensure proper technique and safety.
* Monitor residents' progress, record observations, and communicate findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team.
* Utilize therapeutic equipment and assistive devices effectively and safely during treatment sessions.
* Provide education and guidance to residents, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, exercises, and home exercise programs to support continuity of care.
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions, progress notes, and other required records in compliance with regulatory standards.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists/assistants, speech therapists, nurses, and physicians, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for residents.
* Adhere to ethical and professional standards as set forth by relevant regulatory bodies and professional associations (HIPAA compliance).
*Qualifications:*
* Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
* Current and valid license or certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state.
* Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric care setting is preferred.
* Strong understanding of occupational therapy principles, practices, and techniques.
* Knowledge of commonly used therapeutic modalities, equipment, and assistive devices.
* Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated and proactive.
* Excellent observation and analytical skills to assess residents' progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
* Proficient computer skills for documentation and record keeping. (Rehab Optima and Sigma Care)
