VISA

Here you will find some general information about visa requirements for entry to Chile. We recommend that if you are traveling to Chile to attend the WFOT 2010, to contact the nearest Chilean Embassy to you. The information below was accurate at the time of publishing, but these may change at any time.

Generally, citizens of Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, Canada, the USA, South Africa, as well as most EU countries do not need a visa if they are staying for a short period of time, just their passport. Upon entry, they will receive a "Tarjeta de Turismo" (Tourist Card) which is valid for 60 or 90 days and has to be presented when leaving the country.

Citizens who need to apply for a Visa

If your country is not listed above, you may need to apply for a Tourist Visa, which can be obtained by contacting your nearest Chilean Embassy.

Please note that in order to process your visa application, the embassy may require the following documents:

  • Confirmation of registration (or receipt of payment) To obtain a confirmation of registration, a payment receipt will be issued when you pay for the registration fees.
  • Invitation Letter: To obtain a letter of invitation, please send your request by email to wfot2010@wfot.org . We will email you a PDF version which you can print and present at the Chilean Embassy. The letter of invitation does not financially oblige the congress organizer in any way. All expenses incurred in relation to the congress are the sole responsibility of the participants.
Please note that in order to be granted a visa to visit Chile you must demonstrate that you meet ALL the legislative requirements for visa grant. Please contact your nearest Chile Embassy to inquire what the requirements are for you.
