Oral Presentations (SS and SE)

Oral paper presentations and in-congress workshops will provide an opportunity to report on original research, innovative programs and professional practices, theoretical and conceptual advances, and professional issues relating to the Congress theme.

20 min – Oral Presentations (SE)

Oral presentations will each be of 20 minutes duration, allowing 15 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for discussion.

10 min - Short Oral Presentations (SS)

These presentations are designed to give an overview of information in a short period of time. Presenters will have 7 minutes to discuss their research or idea, (plus 2- 3 minute question time) and can have no more than 5 -7slides.

Sessions run concurrently with the rest of the program so 2 x Short Oral Sessions will run concurrently. Short orals are in rooms and are provided with audio visual equipment to run PowerPoint presentations. ‘Short orals’ are different to ‘prime posters’

In-Congress Workshop Presentations (WI)

A limited number of skill-building workshops, each lasting 1.5 hours, have been selected to run during Congress.

Workshops will offer an opportunity to develop participants’ skills using a variety of presentation methods that are interactive and informal in delivery. Interactive lectures, case studies and demonstrations are suited to this presentation.

Poster Presentations (PP, GG and PS)

Posters provide a static visual display of new techniques, programs, research or professional innovations. They are the ideal medium for the presentation of complex visual material.

Prime Poster Discussion Forum

These are posters that are hung on display boards during the day as standard posters, but presenters give a short presentation at a designated area in foyer during concurrent sessions. Each prime poster will have 5 – 7 minutes to speak to their posters, followed by a facilitated discussion forum. These are intended to be smaller groups so as to enable interaction and discussion between the audience and presenters. Each concurrent session could feature up to 10 poster presentations.

Guided Poster Tours

Organised tours of the poster displays will create the opportunity for face-to-face interaction and discussions with colleagues. Selected static posters will be grouped according to topic themes, and general discussion about the posters and theme will be facilitated by a chairperson.

Standard Posters

These will form a static display, with authors being present at the posters during Congress breaks.

Pre-Congress Workshop Presentations (WP)

A limited number of skill-building workshops, each lasting either a full day or half day, have been selected to run before the Congress.

Please note that registration for participants for pre-congress workshops is not included in the congress fee.

Important Notes for Pre-Congress Presenters
