EARTHQUAKE IN CHILE
1st March 2010
Dear Colleagues,
The World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) extends its sincere condolences to the friends and family of all colleagues affected by the earthquake that struck in the heart of Chile on Saturday 27th February 2010.
The News channels continue to broadcast the devastation caused by this earthquake yet highlight how Chile’s disaster preparedness and response strategies are enabling the country to recover from this horrifying event. This is a testament to the fact that despite the severe damage and tragic loss of life, the Chilean people remain resilient to the challenges they face. WFOT is committed to supporting the people of Chile in their recovery.
The WFOT Congress, due to take place in May 2010 remains, more than ever, a priority. National associations, Delegates, Alternates, Congress Participants, WFOT Individual Members and all occupational therapists have an important role in assisting the people of Chile to rebuild their future.
WFOT is in communication with Team Chile to provide you with regular updates of how the WFOT 2010 Congress plans are progressing and how this event will support the occupational therapists and people of Chile.
